Responsibilities

Seeking a professional and experienced Internet Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate is responsible for developing and maintaining an Internet landscape, conducting online forensic analysis, identifying trends including, technological developments and user behaviors via both open web and dark web resources.  The candidate will need to have the ability to distill key trends and data points that will inform an Internet strategy; conduct in-depth statistical analysis on datasets from a variety of sources; and understand the interaction between the visible elements on a website and online sources, and the website’s source code. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to deliver professional results on short deadlines amidst shifting priorities while remaining poised.  Perform a variety of highly technical analyses and procedures dealing with the collection, processing, preservation, analysis, and presentation of computer-related evidence, and is responsible for disseminating and reporting cyber-related activities, conducing vulnerability analyses and risk management of computer systems.

 

  • Experience in evaluating Internet information from social media, chats, forums, darknet, Tor network, news feeds, internet relay chats and other sources of data openly available on the Internet.
  • Proficiency in performing prioritized assessments to identify the most critical and reliable data in order to identify, bitcoins, locations, accounts, services, travels, email addresses, IP addresses and other pattern of life data in an effort to determine physical attribution of an Internet identity.
  • Fluency in creating intelligence and investigative reports that represent; steps taken, data sources reviewed and conclusions drawn from the evaluation of the Internet information.
  • Demonstrable experience in visual tools as Teradata, Microstrategy, Tableau and i2 Analyst Notebook.
  • Demonstrable experience in conducting and efficiently analyzing virtual currency transactions on the blockchain. Identify, collect, recognize, and review indicators of for specific virtual currency wallets.
  • Assists law enforcement officers in helping to solve cybercrimes or find electronic evidence of other kinds of crime.

Qualifications

  • Over 5 years of experience in the security aspects of multiple platforms, operating systems, software, communications, and network protocols along with malware analysis in support of incident analysis and response.
  • Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, or related disciplines
  • Certification in one or more of; GCFE – GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner, GCFA – GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst, GREM – GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware, Encase, SANS Institute Forensic Toolkit (SIFT) or FTK vendor certifications and product experience.
  • Must possess the highest level of work ethics and integrity with the ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to swiftly search the Internet, navigate complex websites and manipulate online media files.
  • Strong and highly technical experience with online content distribution methods, including streaming video, online file hosting and peer-to-peer sharing.
  • Strong experience with website design, development and operation.
  • Strong and highly technical understanding of the relationship between ISPs, domain names, IP addresses, and hosting providers, and technical infrastructure of such online resources.
  • Strong ability to clearly communicate complex project elements, including technological processes and statistical analysis, to a wide range of audiences.
  • Advanced work ethic and creative problem-solving skills including the ability to work well with minimal supervision and guidance.
  • Strong background and working experience with website design, development and operation.
  • Demonstrable experience with Security Operation tools such as SPLUNK, FireEye, Looking Glass, Intel, Endgame, StealthWatch, RSA, Tanium.
  • HTML, CSS, XML, PHP, PERL and/or other programming capabilities.
