    Responsibilities

    Seeking a professional and experienced Information Assurance Network Specialist to join our team to assist in the administration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and security of a Windows-based network using Active Directory. Candidates must have experience working with NIST 800-53 guidelines in Federal Government environment. Responsibilities include:

    • Conduct vulnerability assessments, mitigation, recommendations, risk assessment and security architectures reviews 
    • Research, develop, test, implement and document all approved changes in accordance with the priorities established by the task manager
    • Evaluate the existing centralized logging network capabilities, forensic procedures, as well as, certification and accreditation procedures. Activities must be documented with results, products and processes in high quality reports and sent to COR for review
    • Research and analyze technology problems, issues and program requirements IAW DOS Diplomatic Security Configuration Standards
    • Scan and monitor assigned systems using Tripwire, Tenable and Web Inspect
    • Report security violations to FSI ISSO or FSI AISSO as soon as they are discovered
    • Produce specific documentation and user guides
    • May be designated by FSI/EX/OMIS and approved by the CSB Cryptographic to access program for assisting in maintaining equipment and accounts on classified network at FSI managed sites under the direction of the FSI IMO and Division Director
    • Reviews and continuously monitor implemented security controls
    • Perform security control assessments using NIST 800-53A guidance as per continuous monitoring requirements
    • Perform risk analysis to determine and recommend essentials safeguards
    • Mitigates system vulnerabilities and recommends compensating controls
    • Prepare security authorization packages
    • Develops core documents such as System Security Plans, Contingency Plans, Incident Response Plans, Standard Operating Procedures, Plan of Actions & Milestones, Remediation Plans, Configuration Management Plans
    • Maintain Plan of Action and Milestones and support remediation activities
    • Maintain inventory of hardware and software for information system
    • Develops, test and train on Contingency & Incident Response Planning

    Qualifications

    • Information Assurance (IA) SME with 5+ years of federal government knowledge and experience applying and implementing NIST Risk Management Framework and Special Publications 800-53, 800-37, Fed Ramp, NIST Cybersecurity Framework
    • Experience in configuring and running vulnerability and configuration compliance (SCAP) scans, troubleshooting issues, and analyzing data to identify trends and recommend remediation actions
    • Understanding of Department of Homeland Security Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation
    • Experience in host based and network-based security tools, analyzing alerts, and initiating incident response process
    • Understanding of operating in multi -Network environments that are multi-tiered
    • Experience with Cloud Hosted Infrastructure and applications environments such as Micro soft Office 365 & Microsoft Azure
    • Familiar with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) and or Project Management Professional (PMP) processe

    **US Citizenship status and Active DoD or Top-Secret Security Clearance, must successfully complete the government’s security process (required)**
